Education

Children’s Christian Education

Holy Redeemer’s children’s program is in the process of redevelopment. There are a growing number of children at Holy Redeemer and they are actively involved in the worship and ministry of the congregation. Children are welcomed in this congregation where there many intergenerational families.

Adult Christian Education

Sunday Morning Studies: Adult education offerings are held on Sunday mornings before the worship service. These offerings often follow the Scripture readings for Sunday morning. These offerings meet in the Library. Please check the Website Calendar for more details.

Advent and Lent: During Advent and Lent, there are often special educational offerings. In 2009, Holy Redeemer sponsored a Friday evening Lenten program based upon Traces of the Trade. This year, the Church is sponsoring a discussion group based upon the Via Media program.

Education for Ministry (EfM): Holy Redeemer began to participate in the Education for Ministry when our congregation hosted St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in 2008-2009. Holy Redeemer and St. Andrew’s participate together in this four year program designed to support and encourage lay participation in the Episcopal Church. Education for Ministry (EfM) is an international program of lay theological education established in 1975. Participants in the EfM program study the breadth of the Christian tradition from the earliest period to the present. Students learn the disciplines of biblical critical interpretation (exegesis), systematic theology, church history, ethics, liturgics, and ascetical theology. A new first year class will be starting in January 2011.
